The training program is addressed to Executives (and prospective executives) of the public and private sector in the field of health.
The purpose of the "Health Finances, Policies and Administration" Program is to train students using asynchronous education in subjects related to health economics, policies and health administration.
Specifically, the student will acquire knowledge about how costs and benefits affect decisions in the health system, choices about the production and distribution of health care, and methods and mechanisms about decision-making related to health policies. Topics related to organizational management, marketing, and innovation management in the health industry will also be covered. With the offered program, students' knowledge can be enriched and updated according to the needs of the modern health market.
The program aims to improve the student's position in the labor market, the dissemination of scientific knowledge in matters related to health economics, health policies and administration and (as a consequence) the systematic and effective management of health units and businesses in health area
The learning objectives of the programme are:
- the understanding of basic principles of economics.
- the understanding of the decision-making mechanism in a regime of limited resources in the case of the health sector.
- the popularized and detailed description of the methodological tools used in economic analysis for the purpose of decision-making in the health sector.
- the description of issues of social justice in the financing of financial care, inequalities in the health status of individuals and the relevant generative factors (in the case of free and non-free health care systems).
- the understanding of the basic principles and practices in the Management of Health Organisations.
- the understanding of the basic concepts of Marketing as a holistic process that drives the vision, mission and strategic planning of organizations in the health sector.
- the presentation of the basic concepts of Innovation Management in the health sector.
- an understanding of research and literature review methods that exemplify good practice for producing worthwhile research papers, papers and presentations.
To obtain the Certificate, the trainee undergoes an evaluation (self-evaluation) with the submission of a concise final paper at the end of the program.
After the successful evaluation (self-evaluation), participants are provided with a Certificate from the Lifelong Learning Center of the University of Macedonia.
